In Brazilian folklore, Encantado, or “Enchanted One” is a shape-shifting water creature who can change into human form. The Portuguese term is used for a being who comes from a paradisiacal underwater realm called the Encante.

There are three elements that best characterize Encantados: superior musical ability, their seductiveness, and their attraction to parties. This is where we derived the name for our newest Passiflora hybrid.
It may not be among the largest flowers, is a prolific bloomer, and blooms at a very small overall plant size. It is not phased by triple digit high heat, even with our summer’s single digit humidity. I expect it should be slightly frost hardy, and has a light sweet scent. It is overall quite enchanting…
